Do you own rental property in the City of Raleigh?

If you do, you need to be aware of a new City of Raleigh ordinance. People who own residential rental property in Raleigh have from March 1 until April 30 to register their property under a city ordinance adopted last year.Owners also must pay at least a $30 registration fee. Registration must be renewed annually.

Recording Fees Increase October 1, 2008

The North Carolina General Assembly recently amended G.S. 161-10(a) to increase the fee for recording Deeds of Trust effective October 1, 2008. The recording fee for the first page will increase from $12.00 to $22.00 and $3.00 for each additional page. The required $2.00 probate fee will still be included, making the total recording fee for the first page $24.00 and $3.00 for each additional page.
