Our Philosophy

We concentrate our practice in residential and commercial real estate closings. We handle closings in Wake, Franklin, Granville, Johnston, Vance and Durham Counties. Work in other counties is available upon request. We also work with businesses to serve their organizational and transactional needs and provide wills, living wills, powers of attorneys and trusts for individuals.

We combine classic, old fashioned service with cutting edge technology. Our office is paperless to the greatest extent possible in a paper hungry profession. Mrs. Drake has practiced law for over 32 years and has over 17 years of experience closing real estate transactions in this marketplace. She has an in depth understanding of the closing process which allows her to take control of difficult situations. Problem solving and communication are her strengths. She has well established realtor and lender relationships.

Adjectives that describe our office include smart, efficient, friendly and approachable. Communication is our strength. We understand that buying a new home and moving your family across town or across the country is one of the most stressful things you will ever do. Not to mention that there are probably also job changes involved. Our goal is to make your home buying experience as smooth as it can possibly be.

We do not use voice mail and if you call the office during regular business hours, one of our highly competent staff (or Mrs. Drake herself) will be available to assist you. We do have an answering machine after hours and phone messages left there will be returned the next business day.

About Barney

Barney is our office cat and official greeter. He was born in the barn at the Thompson House and was abandoned by his mother at the tender age of 4 weeks. He loves people, especially children and puts his heart into his work here. To learn more about Barney and our office read "Barney's Blog" [here] If you are allergic or just don't like cats, we have "cat free" closing facilities available in our office building.
